Restaurant Review, Spring 2005 Issue
Written By R Bruce Heye

Finding a restaurant with a distinct variety of well-prepared food at a great value is a difficult task. But at Lucky 32, these are hallmarks. Best of all is the quality service consistently provided. The good service starts at the front door where there is always a warm welcome with several hosts available to seat you promptly. It is always disconcerting to arrive at a restaurant and stand for several minutes until someone wants to greet you. However, this never happens at Lucky 32.

The quality service is enhanced by a knowledgeable wait staff who will promptly greet you, take drink order and answer any of your questions. Always attentive to your needs, they will pace your meal as quickly as you need, or give you the space to enjoy your dining conversation.

Lucky 32 is large enough to seat up to 160, but the restaurant in broken into section that make it seem more intimate, including a sizable lounge. Additionally, a room in the back of the restaurant accommodates overflow seating or private parties. And if that isn’t enough, they feature their Get lucky & Go service with 2 parking spaces, in front, reserved for take-out orders only.

The central section of the menu changes about every four weeks and offers different styles of cuisine such as New Orleans, Pacific Northwest, Spring and Napa Sonoma. Patrons may also choose from a standard offering of a variety of seafood- with the salmon being one of the best in town, pastas, sandwiches, chicken and beef ($7.50-$23.95). With this much variety, you could eat here every week for a year and get a different entrée each time.

The wine list, which has received the Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence, is one of the most extensive in the triad. Unique to our area is their wine flights of white wines, red wines or a combination. If it’s beer that interest you, Lucky 32 offers a broad range of bottled beers, both imports and domestic, as well as serving five beers on tap.

Appetizers, soup and salads are plentiful, including vegetarian and low carb offerings. The salads are generous and Lucky 32 makes all of their dressings. The dessert list is delicious and creative. Made on the premise, the dessert selection changes frequently.

After many visits to Lucky 32 I believe they have to total package- Great food, efficient and knowledgeable service, extensive menu variety, all at an appealing price. May you enjoy your dining experience!
