We selected and blended wines of true varietal character from barrel samples and had them bottled for you, our guests. We think that these “custom made” (bespoke) wines are true to their type and that they are a good value. Finding these, and all of the wines on our lists, is a delightful part of our jobs. (You’ll see sketches by QW Artist in Residence, Chip Holton of some of QW’s leadership team on the labels!) We hope and believe that you’ll enjoy these wines as much as we do.

HOMEGROWN

Experience North Carolina wines along with locally sourced ingredients. We are excited about some new selections that have come our way from around our home state. The Flight Series white is the first bi-coastal wine of its type we are aware of. An off-dry fusion of Riesling from Yadkin Valley and Kerner (an aromatic white grape) from California. Childress Pinot Grigio is a bright, refreshing style. The Raylen “Carolinius,” a bold combination of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot with a rich, smooth palate. The “Jolotage” consisting of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon & Sangiovese is an homage from Jolo Vineyards to the California term “Meritage” denoting a blend of distinction.

ACROSS THE POND

These new additions from France are great pairings with several of our dishes. Fried catfish, collard greens and other soulful Southern fare are often balanced best with wines that display less oak influence, crisp acidity and earthy minerality. The Simmonet-Febvre Sauvignon Blanc displays lively aromas of citrus fruit while the Latour Macon-Villages is pure Chardonnay, full-bodied without any oak influence. The Domaine Laurent Miquel Syrah is full-bodied yet elegant with black cherry flavors and a peppery note. Enjoy an unoaked Cabernet Sauvignon from Bordeaux that is fresh while exhibiting the classic blackcurrant notes and elegance characteristic of the region.
